From re-brands to our very first international philanthropic project, 2016 was a big year for Lux Group! Here, CEO Adam Schwab shares his top highlights from the year that was.
Wow – what a huge year for us here at Lux! It’s been a year of firsts for us across the group and we couldn’t be prouder of everything we have achieved.
We launched our core values earlier in the year which has really become part the way that we work. My two favourites have seen really become part of our DNA — getting sh*t done and innovate!
Here’s some great examples…
Across our Product side of the business we ran our first ever celebrity advertising campaigns, The Home became the official online retailer for the iconic Florence Broadhurst, we partnered with global brands that have huge consumer credibility (Sass & Bide will work with Brands Exclusive as their exclusive outlet) and the ‘Daily Flash Deals’ have seen great traction.
Luxury Escapes official magazine ‘Travelpost’ went live and we also launched the fantastic Luxury Escapes TV show on Channel 7. We increased our global presence with more deals than ever before across Europe and our first ever deal in New York City. We also secured phenomenal results in the Maldives, London and even Morocco!
Our Experiences team in Australia and New Zealand had a great year launching the new table booking functionality and continuing to work with brilliant vendors across all our capital cities. The quality of our partners, like Sheraton to Berowra Waters Inn to Norsk Dor to Rainbow’s End, remains best in market, while out products team went from strength to strength during the year with fantastic and innovative content.
Our growing businesses, The Gourmet, Lust Have It! And PinchMe all continue to break through boundaries and innovate every week.
Oh and we also changed our name from AussieCommerce to Lux Group in order to reflect the growth in our international businesses.
Internally we also started our #luxgrouplife so we can celebrate and share what’s happening at Lux – and there was A LOT – From the Ping Pong Olympics, desk yoga, break to donate, birthday leave, Pilates, yoga, massages, speed dating, cocktail parties, mindfulness sessions, Christmas in July, standing desks, new team site, flu shots, our Lux netball team, EAP Program, Employee Referral Program and more!
We also launched our biggest philanthropic initiative ‘Mishcam’ partnering with Mission Cambodia and sending twelve brilliant and generous team members of our team over to Cambodia to work with children in underprivileged villages. Your support towards this initiative was enormous and really showed what we can achieve when we all work together.
We’d would like to thank each and every one of you for your contribution to the business this year – we couldn’t have achieved everything we did without you. I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very safe and happy holidays!
