We’re continuing Spotlight on Staff Series with one of our shining stars in the Lux Group Melbourne Office. Eli has moved her way up the ranks from Customer Service Agent, and made a parallel shift into travel with her new role in the tours sector of Luxury Escapes. Read all about her journey here…
Q: Tell us about your current role.
A: I’m the Tours Account Manager for Luxury Escapes. I work closely with Sonia, Head of Tours Product , managing operations & liaising with our operators around the globe to ensure smooth running of our specially curated tours for our members.
Q: What were you doing before that?
Life is all about opportunities and it’s been quite the career journey for me! I started out at Lux Group as a Customer Support Agent back in 2015, so I’ve felt first-hand what it’s like servicing our customers. I then moved onto Weekend Manager of the Customer Service Team & Inbound Sales Team. After which I took on the Customer Service Team Leader role, managing the Melbourne Team, as well as those working remotely in South Australia & New Zealand. This led into the Customer Service Team Manager role. All in all, a wonderful 2 years working with the Product and Experience crew across Australia, New Zealand & the Philippines!
Q: Are you enjoying the change?
Absolutely! I’m really enjoying working on the vendor side of the business, having been on the customer side for the last couple of years, it’s awesome being a part of the process – from the first stages of a campaign being set up, all the way to it going live. The travel business is a really exciting space to be in and I’m learning new things every day!
Q: What do you like about working at Lux Group?
A: The culture, without a doubt. There’s a great energy at Lux Group, and I get to work with so many awesome people who work hard, while having a laugh.
Q: What’s been the highlight of your Lux Group career so far?
A: I’d have to say volunteering in Cambodia with the Mishcam crew last year! It was a great way to connect with people from all different areas of the business on a meaningful and fun trip where we contributed to the community in the Soksan village, through the support of everyone at Lux. An experience I’ll always look back on with a smile. 😊
Q: What’s your advice to someone looking to move up in their career?
A: Keep an ear out for any potential roles that are available for you to apply. Be bold. Give 100%. Do your best. Have those conversations with management and be open to trying something new!
